Hints
for Web areas:
1)
There are only 3 types of files that will be accepted. The ".jpg" and
".gif" files are use as pictures. ".txt" are the text files. No other
files will be recognized on your pages.
2)
For digital camera pictures, using setting of 640x480, best is 320x240 if
you have it. If you have Photoshop or any imaging program that can resize
the picture you should resize it to 320x240. That is the space it will
display in. This will give you the clearest and fastest loading pictures.
Too large of images take extra time to compress when being displayed and
sometimes aren't as clear after being resized.
3)
For text files, you can use codes specific to HTML to enhance the appearance.
The two most basics are: 1) To make a word or words bold place <b>
and </b> around them (the word <b>apple</b> will show
bolder than these other words). The <b> starts making it bold and
the </b> stops the bold. 2) For italics, put <i> and </i>
around the words just like the bold. You can use a combination if you
like (the <b><i> big fox </i></b> jumped over
the fences would look like: the big fox jumped
over the fences.). <br> will skip to the next line.
Any codes acceptable to HTML will work.
4)
For entering pictures and text writeups, use simple names (example: mainbed,
guestroom, kitcheneat for kitchen eating area, etc.). You must use both
fields as identifiers when updating. (area or grouping, and the name you gave it.)
Choose the form that corresponds to the action you want to take ( Add, Rename
or Delete.)
5)
When choosing names, remember that items are displayed in alphabetic order
starting with numbers. If you place a number in front of the name you can
better determine where it will be shown (example: 1masterbath.jpg would
show before 2downbath.jpg)
6)
The programs display pictures and text files as this. a) Text only flows
across the page, b) picture only will display on the left side of the
page, c) picture and text will display the picture on the left left and
the text on the right.
